At Thorn & Thistle Apothecary, we embrace simple, natural ingredients—and that means we don’t add synthetic stabilizers just to make our products behave themselves in the summer heat. Many of our butter or oil-based products may soften or melt when exposed to high temperatures, especially while traveling in hot delivery trucks or sitting in a sunny mailbox or on a porch. Don’t worry—your product is still perfectly good!
Melting may change the texture, appearance, or volume of a whipped product, but it does not mean the product has spoiled. If your product arrives melted or very soft, keep the lid securely closed, gently stir if necessary, and place it in a cool room or refrigerator until it firms back up. A previously whipped product may not return to its original fluffy texture once melted, but it can still be used and enjoyed.
To help protect your goodies, we recommend retrieving packages promptly after delivery and storing your products in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Please note: Because summer temperatures and shipping conditions are beyond our control, Thorn & Thistle Apothecary cannot offer refunds or replacements for products that soften or melt during transit.
